Bill O’Neill
Bill O’Neill is a business and technology executive with a 30-year track record of delivering results, motivating teams, and adapting to changing business strategies. He is currently the chief information officer for the rail sector of Marmon Holdings, Inc. with the mission of creating a high-performing technology team to serve a variety of businesses that work in the freight rail supply chain.
After a 14-year career in technology and process consulting, Bill began his industry IT career at GE Capital, where he spent time as a business unit chief information officer before focusing on more specialized projects such as acquisitions and divestitures and managing the company’s program for entry-level technologists. Bill began his career with Marmon after assisting with the divestiture of many of GE Capital’s businesses.
He has a track record of growth and promotion of leaders, execution, and accountability. Throughout his career, he has alternately delivered large growth initiatives and managed though leaner cycles.
A lifelong Chicago-area resident, Bill is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in broadcast journalism. He lives in LaGrange with his wife Katherine (Kat) and three teenage sons. He is a passionate sports fan but is transitioning his hobbies from basketball and running to golf and the occasional bike ride in the interest of his knees.
