Lawrence Bass
Lawrence P. Bass was an entrepreneur and co-owner of InfraStructure SystemWare LLC, and Applied Tactical Systems Inc. Both firms had international and Fortune-100 clients and specialized in military surveillance, industrial logistics systems, and enterprise software.
Lawrence left retirement to become a certified teacher in Chicago Public Schools through the Chicago Teaching Fellows program where he was a member of the 2009 cohort. He completed additional teaching certifications in physics and chemistry at Northwestern University, and engineering at University of Illinois (Urbana and Chicago) and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
He taught physics, chemistry, and engineering at Harlan Community Academy on the far South Side from 2009-2012. He was an engineering teacher from 2012-2015 at Lindblom Math & Science Academy in the West Englewood neighborhood.
Lawrence is a member of the board of directors of Chicago Collegiate Charter School and SVP community partner Project SYNCERE. Lawrence holds bachelor’s, master’s and advanced engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Now a resident of Summerlin, Nevada, Lawrence spends summer months in Chicagoland with his wife Paula.
