Stephen is an operations executive with experience in market research, energy, and manufacturing industries. He is principal at The Open Energy LLC and is passionate about driving the global transition to clean energy technologies and systems.

He previously served as a vice president of operations at IRI (a global market research firm) where he led large teams to deploy industry-leading operations processes utilizing predictive analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, six sigma and LEAN. Throughout his career, Stephen has passionately pursued ‘simplicity on the other side of complexity.’ He loves analyzing data and processes to understand key performance drivers, then improving processes and business outcomes.

He has held various engineering and operations management roles within sustainability, energy, and manufacturing organizations. This experience includes distributed energy technologies, energy-efficient electrical products, and carbon offset development and marketing.

Stephen has a degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in engineering and operations management from Case Western Reserve University.
